Your order confirmations, invoices and quotes only help if they reach the inbox. Zoey now supports DKIM, so the emails your store sends from your own domain carry a digital signature that Gmail, Outlook and other inbox providers can check.
What DKIM does
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) proves an email really came from your domain and wasn’t changed along the way. Inbox providers look for it when deciding what’s trusted and what goes to spam, and it’s one of the two ways an email can pass DMARC. Zoey already checks your SPF record; DKIM adds a second check on top of it.
Set it up in a few minutes
- In your Zoey admin, go to Web Settings > Domain and find DKIM Records.
- Click Set Up DKIM next to your domain. Zoey creates a key for it.
- Click Show Record and add the TXT record to your domain’s DNS. Each part has a copy button.
- Click Verify. Once Zoey finds the record, every email it sends from that domain is signed.
DKIM works for sender addresses on your own domain, and your domain’s SPF record must be valid first. Addresses at free email providers like Gmail, or at email platforms like Mailchimp, can’t be signed.
Zoey keeps an eye on it
- Nightly checks. Zoey re-checks your DKIM record every night. A one-off DNS hiccup doesn’t change anything; a key is only marked Failed after three nights in a row.
- Status at a glance. Each domain shows Pending DNS, Verified or Failed, and the Email Domain Info panel shows DKIM next to SPF.
- Key rotation. Click Rotate key to replace a key. The current key keeps signing until the new one is verified.
- Never blocks email. If a domain isn’t set up yet, emails go out exactly as before.
- Audit log. Setting up, verifying and status changes are recorded in the Email Settings audit log.
